You just wait...

August has come and gone; the summer of travels is sitting on our livingroom table in a book; and the patio...well... let 's just say nothing new on the patio. We've had some re-arranging of finances that has put a hold, but not a hault on the patio.
This semester is our first semester with a baby. Sure, there was Spring semester when we had an infant, but this past month we have become aware of the difference between infants and babys. We don't REALLY know though do we. I know that all of those parents who have survived past 1 year are thinking, "ha, just wait until she starts talking," or "just wait until she starts throwing a fit on the ground in the middle of the grocery store," or the most common that we've heard, "oh, YOU JUST WAIT until her pre-teen and teen years." Well you know what?! I think we'll do just that. We'll wait. And while we're waiting, we'll enjoy our almost 11-month old little baby girl.
She's just that. A little baby girl. She's walking. She's babbling. She grunts and growls most of the time. She holds her hand majestically in the air with her palm up reaching for the sky and says, "ow oh ow". She loves destroying things. She eats eVEryThinG: paper, grass, avacado, turkey, bugs, corn, hair, pizza, lint, plastic containers, and I'm sure much more. She is ALWAYS wanting to go outside, and will do so if she finds a way out. She loves to give *kisses*. She'll run away from you and bury her head in the pillows. She can dance with the best of them, even to church hymns. She finds every button and pushes it and loves to look at screws. She examines a new toy by turning it over and over with her eyes furrowed and nearly attempts to do the same with a new person. She'll give a smile to anyone, and she's our little girl!
**Oh- AND she loves re-arranging...if you have sound, use it- this includes an interview**

Waiting is a good idea. I'm with you there. Very cute video of Kaylena. Her rearranging attempts would be much more difficult with carpet!

GREAT commentary Calista ! Enjoying EACH day of your childs life and EACH day of your own life, and NOT thinking TOO much about their life ahead a bazzillion years or your own, is the way to go !!
Great Video ! We managed to keep her from rearranging the livingroom Friday night !!
Love Momma !

and then she was WALKING!

it always amazing to me the stages they take as they grow...

i LLOVE sitting behind her at church as she does her toddler stuff, and last sunday enjoyed how she petted my hair...lol she was very gentle, didnt hurt me at all (very rare!)

enjoy every moment.
one day they DO become teens...its a whole different world when they are.

but the adventure up that hill (even ON the hill) is worth everything youll ever go thru in a lifetime!
