Rain Balls

As you may have experienced or heard about in the news, Oklahoma got hit with quite the hail storm.  From what I hear, it's not over yet either.  Our story starts with a nice Sunday afternoon.  It was a relaxing Sunday where we all were home and enjoying our half-mowed backyard.  The sky started turning dark (classic) and we peeked out our front yard too.  Surprisingly, we saw our neighbors across the street had moved their cars under their tree.  We knew then, HAIL WAS COMING!  (See, who needs TV?)  So, we enjoyed the weather until it came.

Then we enjoyed it from inside the house!  When things finally settled, Kaylena was lovin' it.  She knew the rain, but then when the hail came she just stared and stared.  Finally, when she started playing with it, I asked her what it was to which she replied, "Rain ball!"  I think this is her second sentence.  (Her first being in response to where's daddy?  "Daddy potty") lol

I love how she has the opportunity to express what she is thinking, feeling, and observing.  She doesn't speak much, but she signs a ton.  Her signing has gotten much clearer, and as the above story expresses, she has begun to create and express complete thoughts.  It's just amazing to find out what her little brain is thinking!

She's officially in nursery now, and that has been quite the adventure as well.  They told me on Sunday that she looved waterpainting, and was concentrating intently on where she would put the brush on the page.  Well, that and try to drink the "color water"  but hey- she's 18months, gotta live! :)

I'm just grateful that she's our daughter and loves being with us.  It's been so fun to teach her, show her, and play with her as she develops.  It just keeps getting better and better!

Oh this? Yes, we see this as well.  She's still Cute huh :)

Just thought you'd like to know your daughter's gorgeous.
