Well, we didn't do an official Valentine's DAY, but we have been increasing our expressions of love for the week...and hopefully continuing weeks ahead, right!?
Friday, when Jason called to say he was coming home he said, "and I feel like eating some MEAT!" Those words were music to my pregnant ears! So...I looked online and found a Logan's Steakhouse deal and off we went.
We were trying to think of the last time that we had gone out to eat. Like out-like to a restaurant- that like people bring stuff to you. The only times we could think of was when we had relatives visiting and we'd go out with my parents and the visitors, but as a lil' family....? Um......well, let's just say that we enjoyed it soo much, this is the only picture we got! :)
This is the dessert- a cinnamon roll sundae- mmmmmmm...Cinnamon Roll with Apple Slices and more cinnamon and I'm sure a sort of sugary syrup. It was DELICIOUS! And, since the 2-entree deal didn't specifiy which entrees we could get, we had loaded up on STEAK (taking 1/2 of everything home for the next day!) Kaylena was having a kick waving to everyone walking by, ESPECIALLY our waiter. :) Overall, it was an awesome evening.
Then, I worked Saturday morning- so Jason and Kaylena had some play time, and then after an afternoon nap, and STEAK dinner (leftovers remember-hehe), Jason and I left our nephew with Kaylena and we headed out to the youth formal at the State Capitol Building. Everyone had a good time, including Kaylena, that evening.
Sunday was a broadcasted Stake Conference that we watched at our building. Kaylena was extra "sing-y" that day, maybe because we didn't sing our normal amount of hymns...but overall she did well. It WAS funny though how when President Monson was speaking at the end, she kept saying, "eye-ing?" "uch-or?" I guess she's used to seeing President Monson and his counselors together! lol it was cuuuute.
Monday was just an errands morning, afternoon nap, and when Jason got home we headed up to the church to do a lil' person play-time thingy! A couple weeks ago we were trying to think of what to do for FHE/Valentines Day, and we thought we'd see if people would be interested in dropping their kids off for an evening out or off or relaxation! (evening as in: over before 8pm- hehe) Well, I sent an invite out to a handful and sure enough, had a GREAT response!! We had a lot of fun last night and we're SUPER glad we had a good turn out. Everyone got along for the most part, loved the pizza, the pink popcorn, the rollar coaster/ car races, and I think the lil' boys' favorite was Jason's yellow "Ghost" that would chase them around!! (aka: Jason with a yellow blanket on his head). It was a super fun night- and then I came home and seriously crashed, THANK YOU JASON for taking care of the bedtime routine for our lil' one. :) :)
So...there we have it. Today's a beautiful Tuesday in the neighborhood, and I'm eating a Tamale for my round-two breakfast!! Happy February 15th!
PS: do you think flowers are cheaper today? :oP
