2011 is over and out!
I'm sure what the temperature was today, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was pushing 70!  We went for a walk this afternoon and I had the kids in light jackets and Joseph with a hat.  We didn't get too far when the hat came off, and a bit later the jackets did to!  When we got home, it was still so nice outside that we went into the back yard to play with Apollo and rake some leaves/play in some leaves!  I think it's so cute how Kaylena puts her arm around Joseph to take the picture.  She can be so nice to him, then other times....not so much.  It's much better though, and I think for the most part they get along.  Joseph has been free-standing for much longer periods now.  He'll pull himself up on something, let go and just stand there smiling.  It's so funny to watch because he just is too tiny to be doing that!  He's my BABY!!
We invited some friends over to spend a New Years early evening at our place.  Naomi and her family are so nice, we just hadn't ever had a chance to hang out, so I invited them over kind-of last minute and they got here even before Jason got home.  It was awesome fun to have them, and I can definitely see where our child-proofing was lacking for the 2yo stage.  It's amazing the difference between ages.  As Joseph started getting mobile, we've been coverting back to baby-proofing as he grows to fit his age since we kind of let it slack as Kaylena got older.  It was fun though to have them, and we celebrated "Santa's New Year!" at 7:30 since we missed 7pm and I'm pretty sure it wasn't midnight ANYWHERE at 7:30pm.  We might just have to continue that tradition.  Well, until next year!

When you were little, one of us would turn the clocks back, while the other was giving baths...and then when you got out of the bath, we would "celebrate" New Year's and then off to bed you guys went..and then we would reset the clocks. When you got older, we started the slumber party tradition in the livingroom with the confetti !!
