Today was a great Saturday!! Jason had a job with is brother, so the kids and I went to the church while I taught a quick lesson about the Book of Mormon, then headed off to Yukon for their Diaper Dash 2012!  So Joseph had the church gym floor all morning and when I put him in the carseat for the 30minute drive over, he fell asleep- and stayed asleep until right when they started the contest.  I hid his bottle, and was planning to use that as enticement for speed. :)

There were some great competitors, and Joseph was up last.  I honestly had no clue how he'd do.  He has quite the crawling speed, but is also easily destracted and does things with his OWN timing (remember the labor story..."he'll be here anytime"-for a month and a half- then suddenly :55minutes after me waking up one night, he makes his appearance!)  So, I really was excited just to see what he'd do.  Well, sure enough, he surprised me!  I had my sister at the "drop off end" then she scooted over to take pictures and me at the finsh line with a bottle and a bag of Kaylena's fruit snacks (something crinkly).  Destiny put him down and once he saw me AND the bottle, he was off!!! crawl-crawl-crawl-crawl-crawl- oh! and suddenly he face planted it and his legs bent backwards over his head, and then came down to the ground behind him again.  He lifted up his head and looked at me with those eyes and.....wah wah waaaaaaaah!  It was one of those, "I'm so sad and I don't know what just happened, but please come get me!" cries.   In unison, the crowd moaned a long "awwwww" So, I kept encouraging him to get up and go, my sister patted his back, and he got up on hands and knees, and continued at his hastening speed to the bottle.  Well, he didn't place in the running, due to his mishap, but he was a cute crawler, and was the one who "fell on his face then got back up" in the competition.  We love you Joseph!

After lunch with mis padres, we headed back home to pick up Jason and do some errands.  Returns and new car seat buying.  Then we came home, installed the carseat (which took longer than it did to buy the thing) and are just enjoying our quiet-ish evening.
