This morning was an absolutely gorgeous morning to start off at the temple. There is a family in our ward that was getting sealed as a couple and then sealed together with their two children who are about the same age as our two. A few weeks ago, they invited us to be there and we started talking to Kaylena. The more we talked to her about the temple, the more we thought about just one of us going into the sealing session while the other stays out in the waiting area so we can bring the kiddos. So that's what we did. Last night we talked to Kaylena about how she'll get to go into part of the temple in the morning and about how when she's older she'll get to go into more of the temple. I laid out her clothes as usual for church/ special occasions the night before and this morning we woke up to her coming into our bedroom. She was dressed and "all ready to go to the temple!" Luckily she was okay with eating breakfast and waiting for everyone else to get dressed. I am so grateful for the temple in our area and the peace that comes from just being on the temple grounds. She loved being inside and said that she was happy to be there. It was such a beautiful day that we walked around for a while and took some fun pictures.
After the temple visit, we went to visit my parents and grandma in Yukon, ate lunch and chilled for a bit. We then went over to the southside SuperMercado Buy for Less so that Jason could pick up some treats for his classes next week. We were hoping that during this jaunt of our Saturday the kids would fall asleep. Unfortunatly there was absolutely NO sleeping for either one, so by the time we got home around 5:00, they were both on edge. We did some pick up and play around the house with Apollo, and we headed over to our friend's house for a backyard hotdog/ smores/ firepit gathering. It was a great temperature for it, but the wind was just chilling. The kids had a good time (Kaylena playing and Joseph knawing on rocks and dirt) but by 8:30 Kaylena was done and it was only going to get worse, so we headed out and strapped her in. She was literally screaming as we drove out of the neighborhood and down the street. Then all of a sudden she gasped and said, "look mama at the colors!" She was looking at all the street lights and car taillights. We got home and she crashed, so hopefully we can get her up and bathed tomorrow before church. Joseph's good and ready for tomorrow so we'll call it a night and enjoy our quiet evening!
