Friday was our typical- add one 4year old boy to Kaylena and Joseph- Friday! We had a good time with Jumping and Jets to complete our letter J for the week. Thursday afternoon, Joseph was also very excited about the chicharones and pan dulce.... as you can see, he's not shy about his food consumption... we're hoping for a good 6' or taller!!!! :) Friday night was our weekly family dinner, then it was baths and bed for everyone. This week seemed extra tiring, so it was nice, and much needed, to go to bed by 9:00pm.
Today, Saturday was another busy weekend day! Jason and the young men went to help a member in the ward clean up his yard, so the kids and I hit up a local park. It was still a bit chilly this morning, but the sun helped keep us warm enough. We were over at the "big kid" park side, but there just wasn't a lot for Joseph to do, and he wasn't a fan of the wood chips, so after Kaylena ran around there for a while, we moved over to the other side where they have this little "toddler" side in sand. Muuuuch better, and Kaylena loves to play in the sand. We stayed on this side for about an hour. Joseph got the hang of climbing up the steps and even enough courage to go down the slide (belly- dowN) all by himself. He would get so excited that he'd crawl over to me after he got down off the slide, then wiggle for me to let him go so he could do it again. He did that about 3 times. It's just so funny how mobile and able he is for not walking. He'll take about 4 steps now everytime he stands up, but I guess he figures he can get there 10 times faster crawling that he opts out of the walking thing. Oh well! Kaylena had fun moving the sand up to the top and putting it in a hole. Finally she turned to me and told me that she was going to take out all of the rocks because she didn't like them in the sand. So, I'm sure much of that hour was spent Kaylena pickings the big rocks out of the sand, Joseph climbing up and sliding down, and me making a mote-encircled town in the sand. Quite adventurous morning I'd say.
Around lunch we met up with Jason and the young men at the house they were working at, but they weren't quite done yet. Since Joseph was still sleeping, I kept the kids in the car, turned around, and headed back down the street to a neighborhood park where Kaylena and I played while Joseph finished up his nap. Then, we met everyone again at Burger King, ran home to grab some water and drop off Jason's car, then out to Yukon to help move my Grandma to her assisted living place. It's a super neat place that's newly remodeled and just opened again in January. We met some people that stay there too, and they were really nice. It's a big change for everybody, but it'll be exactly what's needed. I'm glad grandma's still close too, so we can continue to visit her.
Well, it's off to get bags and clothes ready for Church tomorrow, oh......and more of Jason's schooling. PS: May 4th is Graduation!!!!! wwwwaaaaaahhhoooooo let the countdown begin! :)
