15 lbs- Hear Me Roar!

Well, it's official!  Tomorrow this lil' baby bubba choate boy is due to arrive.  Will he?  Well, we'll see. :)   I must say though, this has been a new experience for me.  This whole, going into the actual month that the baby is due- going up to the day before the baby is due.  A month ago I was thinking he'd be 2 weeks old by now as following the once established trend of Kaylena's early arrival.  But......as is true, every pregnancy and child is different and I think this has helped remind us of that.  Not all babies like to come two weeks early and then grow up to put stickers all over themselves and "roar" at strangers. :)

I've gotten mixed reactions and opinions from a lot of people.  I guess the closer you get to the due date, the more opinionated people become.  I don't remember, and didn't find recorded nearly as many opinions and "horror stories" from random people with our first, so these past two weeks have been quite entertaining to say the least!! It makes me want to stay pregnant for another MONTH! lol....okay, maybe not another month. :) Just in the past week, I or Jason has heard a range of comments starting with the least opinionated, most concerened, and moving to the most opinionated (in MY opinion) and most entertaining:

  • Oh! How are you feeling?
  • Well, looks like he's still in there!
  • You look like you're going to pop anytime now!
  • You're due TUESDAY?  no way!
  • Dang, you should have that baby today.
  • Oh, you're a summer preggo eh?  What? you're not!
  • Wow girl, you've really got that waddle down.
  • (While staring at me, asking) Are you still pregnant? (to which I would like to reply: No, I stuffed my shirt because I missed my cute pregnant belly. The baby is in the bag.)
Okay- so this lounge dress is like THE MOST COMFORTABLE thing ever!  Don't judge- it's just for the house.  And it's either that or naked :)

I'm sure these comments are pretty standard for every pregnant woman, but I just didn't get that many comments with our first.  Yes, I AM 10 lbs heavier.  Wait...lemme check: make that 15lbs heavier- so here's hopin to a bigger baby.  Cause that's how it works right? :)  For my own sake though- I do think I'm carrying him the same-all out front- it's just a much BIGGER front. hahaha

I've heard all of those except the ones where they are surprised about how close the due date is. It's usually the opposite for me...you mean you still have 6 more weeks? Someone from the OK ward asked me, "You're about to pop." I told her I had six more weeks and her eyes got big and she said, "Oh my gosh! Are you having twins?!" Ah, people. I know they don't MEAN to be rude...

You look great!! I would love a dress like yours. I have no shirts that fit anymore.

Good luck tomorrow!! Does this mean you are being induced?

Haha- I remember you saying that about the twins....sooo not cool. :)

No induction tomorrow, just his "due date"!!!!!

Love it! One of my favorites was being asked "When's your due date?" and responding: "ummm...yesterday!" hahaha, watching their eyes bug out was priceless. I'd say the hardest part is the everyone-wondering-is-that-baby-here-yet? part. And trying to be patient to meet your baby, of course. Sending happy birthing thoughts your way! :)
